The Future of Business Processes (And What To Watch For)

I want to share some insight into the future of business processes (IMO). I have spent a lot of time this year attending conferences and meeting with some of the most talented specialists in the industry. I’ve learned a lot from these interactions and am excited for the future of systems and processes.
Here are the top trends to watch out for (and implement) in the future.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

It’s no secret that AI is here to stay, and several businesses have already integrated this useful feature into their businesses. Although it may feel daunting to the new AI user, I encourage you to look into the different applications and see what they can do for your business.
For example, you can use AI to help create content, brainstorm ideas, send emails and notifications, take basic information, and more.
However, despite popular theory (or fear), they will NOT replace the human element in your business. ChatGPT won’t replace a human copywriter, Canva won’t replace a human graphic artist, and other AI integrations won’t replace YOU. They’ll just make your job a little easier.
Some popular AI integrations that you can start with are:
  • ChatGPT- A free AI copywriter and content creator
  • Canva- A free graphic design program with AI options
  • Grammarly- A free AI grammar and spelling checker
  • Chatbots- An AI customer service program
Your task management system (like ClickUp) will also have some AI features, such as:
  • Error detection and correction
  • Data analysis and predictions
  • Better communication and document summations
These are only a few of the many AI capabilities that could benefit your business, and we’re finding more uses for AI every day. It’s one of the foremost trends to watch for in the future, so be prepared to integrate it into your business for a sleek, modern experience your clients will enjoy.

Micro Tools

Micro tools are small, automated tools that make your business (and life) easier by removing some of the busy work.
For example, you can build a micro tool to read your emails and use AI to summarize them, respond to the important ones, and delete the spam before you know it’s there.
Another tool can bump your sales by automatically announcing that “Jennie bought X service an hour ago” or “Kevin booked a call just now.” Something tangible that other potential clients will see and use when deciding on your business.
Micro Tools are a great way to alleviate your workload without spending a fortune, and you can find many of these tools for a discount on AppSumo. Check it out, and embrace the micro tools of the future.

Hiring an Online Business Manager (OBM)

The business landscape has changed a lot over the years, but one thing remains the same- your business needs systems and processes to function. And, by extension, you need someone to help you manage those systems and processes.
Virtual assistants may be your first thought because, as their name implies, they act as assistants for various businesses. However, you’d still need to manage them and keep an eye on their work, which can be frustrating if you’d rather leave it to the professionals and get on with your life.
That’s why an OBM is the answer. Not only can they manage your systems and processes, but they can do it independently. Plus, they can introduce you to new ideas, software, and opportunities for growth that you might not have considered.
OBMs can coordinate every aspect of your business, manage your team, and boost your productivity without you having to lift a finger. If you feel overwhelmed, stressed, and ready to walk away- you need an OBM.

Final Thoughts

After an exciting year of business conferences and networking, these are the trends that I believe we should watch out for in the next few years. With the rise of AI and micro tools and the demand for OBMs, business owners and entrepreneurs will find new ways of creating stronger, more efficient businesses while maintaining that work-life balance we all enjoy.
