The Processes That Will Help Scale Your Online Business

Without processes, your business can’t grow. That is not an opinion, but simply fact.

Scaling your business is no small feat, and if you try to do it without the benefit of processes and systems, you’re going to become overwhelmed.

What Are Processes?

Processes are a series of actions or steps that you take to reach a goal. They are the cogs of your business because they promote consistency, efficiency, and productivity.

They also offer a seamless experience for your clients, so putting the right processes in place is essential for the well-being of your business.

Here’s where to start.

Marketing

Your marketing process is vital for creating content, generating leads, promoting your business, and engaging with your audience.

For this category, I have two sections that you’ll want to focus on:

  • Content Repurposing for Social Media
  • Follow up on Lead Generation

Content Repurposing

Social media thrives on new content, but that doesn’t mean you should abandon your old stuff.

By creating a process to repurpose your old content in new ways, you can easily fill in the gaps in your content calendar without the additional stress of constant creation.

Follow Up

Lead generation is one of the top benefits of social media marketing, but how often do those leads become sales?

By creating a follow-up process, you can nurture those hard-earned leads and turn them into loyal clients that will help scale your business.

Onboarding

It doesn’t matter if you’re bringing in new clients or hiring team members- you need an onboarding process.

Your onboarding process is the first thing people experience when interacting with your business, so you want it to be as seamless as possible.

It will set the tone for all future interactions, provide examples, build trust, and keep all their information neat and organized.

Plus, by having a consistent onboarding process, you can ensure that every client gets treated with the same high-touch service and feels supported through the entire process.

Offboarding

Similarly, you want a seamless offboarding process as well. It’s the last interaction your clients have with the business, and a process can help you gather feedback, ask for reviews, offer discounts, and tie off loose ends.

An offboarding process can also help your clients remember you and your work, and businesses that have a process in place often see an increase in returning clients over those who don’t.

Fulfillment

How efficiently are you meeting deadlines and completing tasks? No matter what your answer is, you could benefit from a Fulfillment process.

Fulfillment takes many forms, and you can use this process to help your business meet client standards for quality and timeliness.

Your process can also help with reminders and follow-ups by providing automatic reminders, tool integrations, and weekly updates.

For example- If you’re a coach, add an automatic reminder into your fulfillment process that reminds the client to book their next call. Then, if they don’t book in time, send a follow-up to check in. Remember- you can automate this entire piece so that you don’t have to lift a finger.

Or, if you’re a marketing agency, you can use your Fulfillment process to get your clients into your marketing management tool and keep them from getting lost in the shuffle.

Other Processes to Consider

Marketing, Onboarding (and offboarding), and fulfillment are the big three, but there are plenty of other processes to consider.

If you want to scale your business, consider adding these other processes into the mix.

Communication

How are you communicating with your clients? Your team? You need a process to keep everyone updated and informed. I recommend using Slack, Voxer, or Zoom to keep your communication channels open.

Project Management

A project management process will help you store and manage your projects, keep track of deadlines, provide updates, and organize your to-do lists. I recommend using Clickup, Asana, or Trello to keep your workspace nice and tidy.

Client Relationship Management (CRM)

Are your clients happy with your work? Do you have access to their relevant information? If not, you need a CRM process.

I recommend having a CRM for your business where clients can leave feedback and stay up-to-date with your latest products or services. Dubsado or ClickUp are good options.

Final Thoughts

Processes help lessen the stress and overwhelm of running a business. However, I know that there isn’t a “one size fits all” formula when it comes to entrepreneurship, and while these processes are important they can be hard to get right.

Thankfully, there’s a way to bridge the gap and find a solution that’s right for you.

I’ve created a set of templates that can help you find the right processes for your business, and they’re ready to help you scale and grow like never before.

You can get the set for a one-time payment of $27- a small price to pay for the ability to streamline your processes and take your business farther than ever before.
