Everyone has different skill sets. It’s part of what makes us unique and- depending on which set you use in your business- can give us the edge we need to stand out from the crowd.
However, technology may not be a skill in your particular wheelhouse. Millions of people feel the same way, and you can still have a thriving business without being a tech whiz.
Especially when it comes to automation.
Automation is an easy way to streamline your business, eliminate busy work, and ensure everything goes out on time—and you don’t need a lot of technology knowledge to make it work.
Here’s what to do instead:
Use the platform you’re comfortable with
If your business doesn’t need all the bells and whistles that some platforms (like ClickUp or Asana) have, then there’s no shame in moving to a platform you’re more comfortable with (like Trello).
That way, you can alleviate unnecessary stress, stay focused on your business, and feel more confident in your abilities. Yes, it may not be the “popular” platform, but it works as long as it gives your business the tools to succeed.
There will be times when you have to use a platform you’re uncomfortable with. However, there are plenty of ways to work around it.
Utilize help sections and tutorials
Help sections and tutorials are amazing resources that can help you navigate unknown platforms, figure out the features, organize your processes, set up automation, connect to other platforms, and more.
Most help sections will have the information you need. However, there will be times when you can’t find what you’re looking for. When that happens, YouTube is the place to go. They have step-by-step instructions for anything and everything- including training videos, troubleshooting, and more. Plus, most YouTube videos offer transcripts, so you can read the instructions instead of watching them (if you prefer).
No matter how tech-savvy you are, you can always use these resources to help boost your knowledge and find answers to almost any problem.
Hire Me!
If the thought of doing anything tech-based overwhelms you, the easiest thing you can do is outsource the task to someone else.
There’s no shame in it, and most professionals (like me!) can help you get your business in order and handle all the tech portions, leaving you free to grow your business in other ways. We can train you in the tools you use, help you become more comfortable handling technology, and support you on your journey.
That’s what I do, and I’m always looking for new ways to improve businesses and get other entrepreneurs (like you!) set up for success.
And, if (for some reason) I’m not the right fit for you, other professionals like me can help. Look for one who knows the tools you use, understands the needs of your business, and can turn your ideas into reality.
Final thoughts
Technology is always changing and evolving, but you shouldn’t let that stop you! You’ve got this, and the tips above can help guide you along your tech journey.
Or, if you feel like you don’t “got this,” book a call and let me do it for you. I’m always happy to help.
